Workers Unite !

If there is one thing I take great pleasure in , it is observing the foibles of human behavior. From time to time I need to take a break from the serious news and look at some of the more oddball stuff that happens in our lives. And I love to report the news of the wierd. And without much effort I can usually find no shortage of these kind of news stories. Now I take great delight in reporting a couple of little nuggets I just found and hope that you get the chuckle that I found in them. God as my witness every story here is true ! You can't make this stuff up ! :)

News Item # 1 - Or as I call it " Workers Unite " - Copenhagen , Denmark - Workers at the local Carlsberg beer plant walked off their jobs in protest last Thursday and you might ask why. Better pay ? Nope ! Better working conditions ? Nope . You would be wrong again ! I hesitate to tell you the vile nature of the worker uprising , but the outrageous nature of the management violations must be reported ! In an exercise of extreme cruelty the management of the local plant removed beer coolers from all work sites at the local plant. And now all beer consumption during work hours will be limited to lunch breaks only ! Are you kidding me ? Talk about breaking the morale of your work force !

I cannot help but think that no one is gonna wanna work any overtime now. I mean what a gesture of cruelty ! Next thing you know they are gonna tell you that you can't smoke a joint on your coffee break ! It's total repression ! Maybe they should take it to court. So to the management at the Carlsberg beer plant I have only three questions.

# 1 - Seeings I would have to start at the ground floor in a rookie position what are the oppurtunities for advancement ?

# 2 - Does the Insurance cover rehab ?

# 3 - What is your dental plan like ?

Now I know a situation like this could seriously affect the performance of any disgruntled workers at the plant. So all I gotta say is its a good thing I like Heineken !

News Item # 2 - Or as I call it " Just plain rude " Locally here one of our city council people Marti Emerald was Investigated by the local ethics panel and found to be in Violation of a couple of financing violations for her campaign. This is her first term on the council. And Emerald has already acknowledged the violations on the campaign finance rules. But her attorney Bob Ottille wants to fight the fines and go to Superior Court because the ethics panel was " abusive and rude ". Now Imagine that defense. Next time I get a speeding ticket I know who I am gonna hire to defend my reputation ! Seems like Marti is a natural for congress !

News Item # 3 - Or as I call it " Was It good for you ? " Naples , Florida - A Collier County sheriffs deputy was reprimanded for a December incident in which he tasered his co worker . A female deputy was showing a worker something on her IPOD at the Collier County jail and then the deputy followed her and gave her a good zap with his taser. The whole incident was caught on tape. And of course the deputy was disciplined for the Incident since that time. My take you ask ? Another case of political correctness ! You can't even zap your friends anymore without somebody getting in an uproar !

And finally I am gonna give you my last little snippet of news which I call " Chow Chow Chow "

Great Falls - Montana - I want to give a huge shout out to Schnautzie the cat who recieved a purple paw award from the Great Falls Animal Foundation at last Saturdays Fur Ball ! ( Yes this is true ! ) Our feline hero was given the award for saving the life of Trudy Guy in 2007 when as a kitten Schnautzie stuck her paw up Trudy's nose to save her from the gas leak in her home by trying to block the smell , but woke Trudy up who smelled the gas and got out of the house before the leak got worse with our feline hero in tow ! Schnautzie the world needs more cats like you man ! The local fire Dept got the leak and immdiately acknowledged the life saving actions of Schnautzie. I wonder if the cat got like a lifetime supply of Kitty Litter or a new scratching post though ?

Folks these are a couple of the little snippets of news of the wierd that I felt Incumbent to bring to your attention. Because life is truly stranger then fiction. And while we are at it. give it up for Schnautzie man !
