The beginning of the Holiday Season is now upon us and we begin with what I call Round 1 of the Holidays which are gonna stretch over the course of the next 6 weeks . Now we are at the Thanksgiving phase of it . For me I particularly love this holiday as there is nothing that gets me more amped up then someone else doin the cookin , football , and a serious bout of lounging . I am known to be a world class leisure time expert here . So in the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday I thought I would pass on some tips to all of you that have made me a gold medal slouch ! Because as I am sure you have surmised by now nobody takes their leisure time more seriously then your humble correspondent here ! So here are some tips that have made me such a successful couch potato !
1 If you plan on getting onto Hubpages do it early ! Let,s face it man if you are as addicted to Hubpages as I am you are gonna get few oppurtunities to Indulge in your favorite pastime ! Therefore If you wanna post snarky comments on your fellow Hubbers article you gotta do it early . Because I can guarentee you trying to do so later in the day , you will be blocked by constant Interruptions from family , those loud neighbors and pesky relatives !
2 Check In on your Neighbors ! Now In my complex I really like my neighbors , but man they can get loud !! And if there is one thing more annoying then Black Friday or Hubpages forums it is constant noise ! One time they had a barbecue and they were kind enough to Invite me. I ended up doin the cookin while they were gettin trashed and I did it for two reasons . One , In all the guest,s best Interest I did not want the food to burn ! Two , I did not want the complex to get lit up ! I like livin here . So I have always made it a point to go by and drop in and say hello . And they are always eager to offer a Heineken or a Diet Coke which just happen to be two of my favorite toxins ! I figure I would not be very neighborly If I declined .
3 Help out in the kitchen ! No this is not a typo . If you help out in the kitchen early in the day , you accomplish two objectives . One , everybody will look at you like you are a nuisance and run you out of there so you can go back to the couch ,which is what you wanted to do in the first place ! Two , everybody will look upon you more kindly . But what they are not aware of is that you really do not care about the Detroit Lions game because they stink ! But you look like the hero because you are tryin to help out while the football game is on ! Get it ? It,s win win baby !!!
4 Wear loose clothing . Lets not kid ourselves here. By the time this holiday is done you are not gonna be ready for the catwalk at some Paris fashion show ! So you gotta wear some loose clothing to be comftorable because you know you are gonna eat yourself into a coma !!!
5 Nap time ! Now nap time on a holiday is something I take very seriously . You get some healthy rest and the relatives are less likely to bug ya to chat about your Uncle and how some of the Grandkids might be smokin pot ! And you also avoid that dreaded topic of how you are gettin older and you should have been a Captain of Industry by now !! Use this strategy liberally .
6 Strategically leave the advertisements for sales close to the gals ! Always a sure fire winner !!! They will be so obsessed with the sales that they will grab the elbow and kneepads along with the crash helmet and set them out early , for the shopping at the mall on Black Friday ! And better yet you get a moments peace !!!
Now there are probably more tricks In my bag but I have highlighted some of the most Important tips that have made my holidays so relaxing ! Ease these into your playbook and I guarantee you a successful Thanksgiving holiday ! And also just as a sidebar , take stock of the things you are thankful for . This is a practice that should be done daily , but this is as good a day as any to look at life and realize your blessings ! I have always said I do not have everything I want but I have way more then I need ! I am blessed . Best to all of you to hubbers . Happy Thanksgiving

Wanted to get my comment in early as recommended in tip #1, as I may not be able to later on. Good advice, I would add to make sure to take along a tupperware so you can bring some of the leftovers home.

Tony, I wanted to be the first to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! I became a grandmother last friday, so you know I'll be busy kissing the little guy all day. Don't eat too much, on the other hand, eat a lot and enjoy!
