Like you I have just been overly saturated with the escapades of one Anthony Weiner and his tweets and facebook buddies. And now that his career hangs precariously by a single thread and has turned into National Enquirer fodder. The liberal media knew that they must act in haste.
And so with one of the most outspoken Liberal titans being caught with his pants down , so to speak a strategy had to be developed to counter the egg in the face that the hard left have received since the Memorial day weekend. And with pathetic predictability the media set their sights on their favorite target, Sarah Palin. As anybody who is paying attention knows this week approximately 24,000 emails from Palin were made available to the media via " The Freedom of Information Act ". And I am sure that any major metropolitan newspaper was chortling with joy as now they had access to some real dirt and wanted to crush a woman who is not even an elected official. And thus far these emails have done nothing but produce a bland and boring plethora of nothing. And this I am sure has been a complete disappointment to all of the media that was in attack mode. I equate the situation to those two divers in that movie " Open Water " that were surrounded by sharks reveling in the chance to have them for lunch.
This was Sarah Palin's fault right ?

The jihad of the media
Now I am going to say this firmly and concisely so that there is no ambiguity. I do not want Sarah Palin for President. And that is because I want someone who is certain to win the election over our community organizer and Chief. And Palin is far to polarizing Not because I don't like her because I do. I would vote for Charlie Sheen over Barack Obama right now. My contention here is that since we were introduced to Sarah Palin in 2008 no one has received such hate and vitriol from the media as this woman has. And I also contend that the reason she is so disliked by a segment of the American population is because of a caricature that has been created by a media with an agenda to portray her as a backwoods hillbilly and a segment of the population that is more then willing to believe it.
For example at the beginning of this year we had the tragedy of the Gabrielle Giffords shooting and with the usual zeal all of the mainstream press was more then willing to lay the responsibility at the doorstep of Sarah Palin. Claiming that the fact of her using targets on a map was the incentive behind what is a national tragedy. And then she did not respond to their libelous accusations and was attacked for that. And then she had the audacity to respond in her defense with what we now know as the " Blood Libel " statement. And then she gets attacked for that. I kid you not, the LA Times was just going out of their way to pin this on Palin. And then it turns out that Jared Lee Loughner was just a wacko with a morbid fascination with Giffords. And does the media apologize to her ? Hell no ! She has it coming right ?
Heaven forbid she jaywalks huh ? Meanwhile Chelsea Clinton weds a man whose father served jail time for basically creating the Nigerian money scam. And the Clintons welcomed him with open arms to the wedding.

And Hillary wants to give our bestest buddies Pakistan more money to the tune of billions. Even though they harbored Americas number one enemy. And also it seems that she and Samantha Powers have a proclivity for getting us into wars like Libya and looks like maybe Yemen too ! I mean she is Sec of State so she has a say so in this right ? I apologize for deflecting because we know who the bad guy is here , right ? That evil Sarah Palin ! Oh and did I mention that Debbie Wasserman Schultz is one of Wall Streets best buddies ?

Now seriously folks who has the bigger transgressions here ? I will say that those of you who buy the tripe that the media sells you about Palin as opposed to the liberal women and their offenses are saps ! And I have no problem saying that !

Now what the media will not report is how many death threats Palin gets . I had to learn this through the London Telegraph. And I call Thursday 6-10-11 the day the media died because when these emails came out the Washington Post and the NY Times both were recruiting their readers to sift through the emails in hopes of finding a " Weinergate " scandal. Therefore the objectivity that the media so proclaims was finally removed. There could no longer be a shadow of a doubt that the integrity of a free press was no longer in question. They don't have any. Please name me one other public figure to whom such a rabid pack of attack dogs were sent after. When Palin put out her book a couple of years ago the Associated Press had no less then 12 journalist do fact checking on her book. When Barack Obama put out his book they did not assign one reporter to do the same. And the woman does not even hold a public office. So now we all know who care to remove the blinders that the media is ideologically driven and no longer fact driven. They attack her for having the nerve to do a bus tour and not give the press the itinerary. Why should she ? I am glad this pack of losers was left doing nothing but following her. She owes them nothing. And she also knows no matter what she will never be treated fairly !
Meanwhile China is calling for a replacement currency standard and this years deficit is to the tune of a trillion. But we know who the problem is don't we ? That evil Sarah Palin !
So after observing the disgrace of the modern media, Media Matters , and Journolist all I can say is we sure don't have any Woodwards or Bernsteins left , do we ?

This is an excellent hub and so true. We don't have news anymore, just editorials, and that goes for most newspapers too. This situation is pathetic. Just look at how little attention all the flooded states with so many deaths have received. These Americans are suffering and why hasn't the federal government fixed some of the dams, etc.? Sorry to rant. Rated up, awesome hub.
And Pamela I am sure that Texas and Arizona will get no help. Kay Bailey Hutchinson even said this week the reason Texas will get no help is because our present administration will not help Texas because of their dislike for that state.
But as I said more then at anytime in recent memory the mainstream media has shown it's true colors this week with their campaign to smear Palin. They can no longer be trusted. When I read the newspapers anymore and I read several I no longer believe what they say, I just observe how they try to slant things.Thanks for sharing your thoughts Pamela !

My friend Wesman i have been aware of this one for some time. But I feel that the precedent they set in the last few days is unparalleled. And when I read the responses in the letters to the editors column in the major newspapers it seems many others are waking up to that fact too.

I'm not sure we should abandon Sarah. With the overwhelming amount of crap the left heaps on her, I think that is what they want us to do. Why? Could it be they think she can win?
The LSM see themselves are Media hit men, now. To hell with the news, the truth and the facts. The NYT asked its readers to send them any Palin e-mails that could prove "interesting". Shame on them. Journalism is dead, dead, dead! Up, useful and awesome.

tony - I made this observation on one of my Hubs this morning about something the lefties in life need to maybe ask about all this.
They chased her bus tour, where they were not invited, like rabid dogs. She blew them off as any citizen should. She was acting as a private citizen and they couldn't, and probably still don't, accept that.
Politico published 4 questionable articles about the woman in a week's time. One of which was an outright fabrication which they had to print a retraction to. I love it when they have to wash the egg off their stupid faces.
Then the e-mails in Alaska were released and they spent I don't know how many dollars swooping down on that state to come up empty handed again.
So my question is this to a liberal. How much money have they expended harassing this woman? Wouldn't that money be better spent, since you are such compassionate people, feeding, housing and caring for the poor? That question bears some examination by anyone. The whole thing is ridiculous.
mslizzie I am not sure that Palin is electable. But I do wish that we had another mainstream candidate would have the outspokenness of Palin or Trump. I do not want her for President but I also cannot believe the treatment she has received.
BPop everytime I read a site like Politico or Huffington Post most of the time I feel fairly certain that they are spewing lies. And you are right , journalism is dead.
Horse Feathers, I myself would not call Palin a nut. I think the media has gone out of their way to paint her as some type of cartoon character. But as far as I am concerned what little credibility that they were trying to hang onto is all but gone after two major newspapers actually solicit their readers to help them sift through emails just to find something to make one person look bad.
That is not journalism, that is a witch hunt ! And I love the fact they came up with nada is great ! Screw em !

I think media is making a big mistake of thinking people will keep buying their hate and ridicule of Palin. Media can go ahead and cater to their so called intellectual audience, whatever, but we have to give the public more credit, that, we are not a bunch of maniputable dumbos, and we know when enough is enough. it is dirty business, in a dirty place, but overall, most of us want decency, and still expect it to reign. While I'm not sure I'll agree that Palin is the answer - I totally agree with this well-written observation about the media that no longer bothers to support our constitution by keeping an eye on our lawmakers. They have become evil. Plain and simple. Great Hub!
Carol I have said it before and I will say it again. I do not want Palin in office. I kinda hope Rick Perry will quit wasting time and announce his candidacy. Our media have become a bunch of liars. And their agenda was no more obvious then in the last few days with their witch hunt that failed in an epic manner. Even Judith Miller of the NY Times said she was embarrassed for her peers. Great post Tony. Rabid attack is the most sincere form of flattery. Real TPM patriots with galvanizing charisma like Palin and Bachmann are the liberals' worst nightmare, because they can deftly explain to the the center why Obama has failed, and siphon off votes he needs to get reelected. Neither the right nor the left can win without roughly half the centrist vote, so that's where the action is going to be. Obama is going into 2012 with a big albatross hanging over him: centrists are not ideological, but focus on day to day things, especially jobs. When jobs are weak, centrists have a tendency to toss the incumbent party out. Admittedly, the TPM's unyielding stand on fiscal reform and legal constructionism will not sit will with centrists, so there is no cake walk here except for a well heeled RINO. But as you know, that's not what we need to fix the debt crisis and start repealing enumerated powers abuses that have accumulated over the decades.
From a best national interests standpoint, I think what we need is a solid ideologically sound conservative for president (Bachmann would be my top choice), and a proven fiscal reformer as point man on the budget for VP (Pawlenty would be my pick here).

And I have no doubt they are beside themselves with grief that they could not bring her down with all those emails. Everytime the media goes after her Palin wins ! And that is probably the biggest thorn in their side of all !
stu I like both Pawlenty and Bachman too. And both had good showings at tonights debates. Pawlenty I wish had a little more fire in his belly and some more bravado though. I know he is squeaky clean which for anybody but a Lib would be a plus. And Bachman showed some real awareness tonight ! I really want Rick Perry in there. He would be a slam dunk !

Azik - To me it seems that " jihad " is an appropriate term for the treatment that Palin receives from the media because they have as of Friday admitted that they are trying to drag her down. When a major newspaper ask it's readers to go through an individuals emails there is an obvious agenda there. And I love the fact that they could not find any dirt on her. Palin wins.
@ TPC - What media outlets might be referring to TPC ? If you are going to say FOX my history here has shown I never reference them. So if you are going to try to say I am a loyal FOX News only guy. Think again. TPC there is a conservative revival going on in this country and I think it is great !

Tony - I really like Perry too. But we have a good crop out there: Bachmann, Paul, Palin, Cain to name four. We aren't being starved by any means.
Stu Bachman made a pretty good showing last night in the debates. Of coure the hard left will try to paint her positions as fanatical. I want someone to let there anger out on the shape this country is in though.
Me too. I'm plenty angry, and I want the GOP primary winner to be as mad as I am. My personal favorite is Bachmann (in terms of who I want to win, although at present Cain seems to rank higher in the polls). Just got my deluxe royal blue "Team Bachmann" shirt in the mail. I am with you. I sincerely hope Palin doesn't enter the prez race because the MSM has made a cottage industry of smearing her, and she cannot beat Barry and he MUST be defeated for America to survive and once again thrive. I just watch MSNBC sometimes and scratch my head at their stalkerish fascination with any and every thing that Palin does. She is NOT holding an office and she has NOT entered the race, seems to me they could find something a bit more constructive to obsess about!!

I don't think the real issue with Palin is that she's unelectable. If she gets past her 2008 habit of publicly fighting with her own campaign team, they can coach her on how to court the center.
Her real problem is that she has no "issue experience." While she has a perfect TPM ideology, and strong executive credentials, she lacks hands-on skills in federal law, military policy, geopolitics, etc. She really needs a couple stints in Congress first, preferably with assignments to critical committees.
I think she has massive potential, but she's a bit green for chief executive right now.

I once was the media... I hate the media for giving us all a bad rap... but I do believe they have brought it on themselves. They blow up things that make no difference to anybody, and then they forget what real news is. I won't even read up on the whole Sarah Palin thing. I think it is stupid. It is as if these people aren't allowed to be people. I am sure there are others out there that have done much worse things and never got any attention.

The thing is, Palin never did ANYTHING bad. The whole thing about Palin is that she handles criticism badly (can't deal with the press, can't take constructive aid from her campaign team, etc.). She definitely needs help getting over an "infallibility complex." But the MSM morphs this into "implied stupidity" because she muffs interviews. But they don't also look at her brilliant speeches, excellent books, track record as Governor of AK, etc. They just infer from the fact that she is poor at handling one type of communication format that she is an imbecile. That isn't reporting, that's just bias and sloppiness.

And I too have serious doubts about Palins electability. But she is more of a real person then any other person on the political landscape. Every time I go to the websites of any of the major newspapers and look at their editorials , it seems instead of the majority taking it in as gospel truth now they are getting shouted down. No one is fooled by the medias viewpoint now thanks in large part to the internet where we can get up to the minute truth. And I appreciate the thumbs up too !

@ Cari Jean- Most on the left will never admit this Cari Jean but Palin does have a broad mass appeal and an outspokenness most of the old school Republicans do not.Palin has become the voice of what used to be the silent majority. And as well as being an attractive woman this makes her quite a danger to the left leaning in society. Therefore it is imperative that they shut her down at all costs.
