I love a good scare
There are not to many people I am aware of who don't like scary movies. I think there is a part of the human psyche that just loves a good scare once in awhile. And on top of that scary movies are just plain good ole fashioned fun ! Now I gotta tell ya I find it difficult to get that kind of charge out of very many movies in the horror and scary movie genre. Most of them in that genre have left me pretty underwhelmed quite frankly. I was not particulary impressed with either " The Grudge " or " The Ring " and could not understand why these scared people. Both of them got me sleepy. And in the age of Vampire saturation I seem to be suffering from the same of late. I like to watch monster movies but I am more amused then entertained. But a couple did make my list. But if there is one type of movie that gets me edgy ,it is movies about crazy people. I find crazy people much scarier then monsters. And also these movies for me contain a critical element that seems to me to be missing in most scary movies , SUSPENSE ! I like a movie that makes you sit on the edge of your chair !
And most of those types of movies have dominated my list. This is not what one might call a top ten so to speak , these are just the movies that actually got me on the edge of my chair and put a little bit of a scare in me. And who does not love that ? So here folks are the movies that got your humble correspondent clutching the sides of his armrest on his easy chair. And more or less in order of my level of scare.
#10- Seven - This one came out in 1995 and starred Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. Freeman played William Somerset a detective on the verge of retirement and partnered up with detective David Mills in an unidentified metropolis. And they are tracking down a ritual killer basing his crimes on the seven deadly sins. Kevin Spacey who has never done a bad job in any movie I have seen him in plays the psychopathic killer named John Doe. And Gwyneth Paltrow as Pitts young wife. And for what its worth the movie picked up an MTV movie award. This definitely falls into the nail biter category for your humble correspondent here. And if you have not seen " Seven yet , where have you been man ?
#9- The Exorcist - The Exorcist came out in 1973 and most of you who hang out here at HP probably were not even born yet ! But I had just turned 13 at that time and I was starting to think I was pretty cool. But I remember going to the theater with my Mom and sisters as well as some cousins and Aunts and all of us were cowering in our chairs while we were watching the movie. Let me tell ya " The Exorcist " was mega huge during this time. And it is now agreed by almost every film critic and pretty much any movie fan that this one goes down as one of the top all time horror movies ever made. The movie was adapted to the screen from a novel by William Peter Blatty that was published in 1971 and directed by William Friedkin. And Ellen Burstyn , Max Von Sydow , Lee J Cobb and Jason Miller are no less then fantastic in the execution of the plot. Linda Blair plays Regan the child who is posessed by a demon and was pretty much her only claim to fame. But boy did she do one hell of a job on this one !
#8- The Hitcher- In February of 1986 we were given " The Hitcher ". C Thomas Howell plays Jim Halsy a young kid delivering a car from Chicago to San Diego and in his journey picks up a hitchhiker. The man is soft spoken and goes by the name John Ryder and played spectacularly by Rutger Hauer. Also included in the cast is Jennifer Jason Liegh who plays Nash a waitress at a small coffee shop that Jim Halsy goes to after he assumes that he has gotten rid of John Ryder. I love the suspense and the unfolding twisted relationship that develops between Ryder and Halsy during the course of this movie. In 2007 the idiots in Hollywood as usual out of Ideas did a remake of this movie as they are incapable of doing anything original anymore. And as is predictable the newer remake did not even come close to capturing the edginess that the original movie had. If you have not seen the original Hitcher movie and you like a good scare , this is a must see !
#7- Silence of the Lambs - One of the best written best acted crime suspense thrillers that I have ever had the pleasure of choking on popcorn watching. The cast for starts is exemplary. Jodie Foster in what I consider the top role of her life as a young Clarice Starling , along with Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter the creepiest psycho ever created. And one aspect that really creeps me out about Lecter is you know he is dangerous and you know he is a cold blooded killer but there is actually something about Lecter you kinda like. I always found that aspect so disturbing. And you have to definitely give a major shoutout to Ted Levine in the role of Jamie Gumb but who is known by his alias " Buffalo Bill ". This dude was just about as creepy as it gets. And Levine had me deeply disturbed and creeped out through the whole movie. Scott Glenn also does great support work in this movie as well in the role of FBI agent Jack Crawford the man who pulls Agent Starling into the nightmare of a case. It recieved the Academy Award for best picture in 1991 and is listed highly on the American Film Institutes list # 65 as best movie of all time and #5 as the best thriller movie of all time. This was a masterpiece ! And I have watched it multiple times now.
#6 - The Thing - As I had previously mentioned monster movies do not scare me to much. However when John Carpenter came out with this SciFi/ Monster horror flick in 1982 I was clutching the side of my chair with white knuckles ! Kurt Russell is the main character in the movie helicopter pilot RJ Macready. And even the setting for the movie is creepy. A Antarctic research station where the monster is unearthed buried deeply beneath the ice from a Norwegian research station. And I like it that you do not see much of the monster for most of the movie. The suspense builds and so does your level of fear. And that to me is what makes a good horror flick. Blood and guts are fine , but without a building of suspense you may as well be watching " Meet The Parents ". This movie suceeded in scaring the S**t out of me !
Misery
SAW The first movie !
Audition. The best of Asian horror !
Fatal Attraction
Alien
My top five
#5- Misery - Rob Reiner directed this film in 1990. And I love a good psychological thriller. James Caan is great as novelist Paul Sheldon whose claim to fame is a series of romance novels based on a character named " Misery Chastain " . And then this is also the first film where I had ever even heard of Kathy Bates who plays the sick and psycho character of Annie Wilkes, Pauls #1 fan. I think most of you here know the plot behind this movie. And if you have not seen this 20 year old movie yet it comes highly recommended from your humble correspondent. There is so much intensity throughout this movie including one scene that I will not mention that just had me to the point that I had to be peeled off the ceiling. But for anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller this movie is a must !
#4- SAW - The first " Saw " movie premiered at the Sundance film festival in January of 2004 and was recieved favorably. As reviews go it was pretty much equal on people that liked it and the same number of reviewers hated it as well. Many denounced it as nothing more then a gore fest. But I would like to point out that the first "Saw" had a pretty much respectable cast on the first movie, Danny Glover, Cary Elwes , Monica Potter and Tobin Bell as " Jigsaw " one of the creepiest lookin dudes I have ever come across. Now " Saw " has inevitably turned into another one of those cash cow franchises that Hollywood loves to milk to death and as is ever predictable there are now I believe six sequels and all of them are just horribly predictable. I can tell you with the upmost certainty that when " Saw 15 " comes out I will not be running to Redbox to rent it. But this is true, me and some visiting family members were tired from a long day and wanted to rent a movie just to rest at home and enjoy viewing for a lazy evening. None of us were particularly enamored with any of the selections that were available at the video store. So we just took a wild stab and we all decided on " Saw " by default because there was not much else to watch. So we got home without much enthusiasm and then HOLY CRAP ! Every one of us who was not thrilled about the movie were totally on the edge of our seats and I even got a stomach ache from the tension. This is another one of those that while it had some gore it also had some good pacing and good acting and alot of tension. No tension in a horror movie and all you got is a bloodfest that would make me almost want to watch the most horrific human being alive Kathi Griffin ! This is a great must see horror flick
#3- Audition - Now folks I wanna tell you as far as Horror movies and scary movies go if you are a fan of this genre you really have to invest some time into looking at both Japanese and Korean cinema for these types of films. Asian horror cinema is really well done and quite frankly has made my skin crawl sometimes. The Oriental cultures really have produced some fine films like " Oldboy " which was Korean and my particular favorite is " Audition ". This movie made me damn near have to change my shorts ! This 1999 film was completely unknown to me till I saw the Bravo channel do their rankings of the best horror movies of all time. " Audition " was ranked #10 out of all the great horror movies that Bravo highlighted. So I had my curiosity piqued by this and decided to rent the movie and see what all the hoopla was about. And boy did I find out ! The movie starts very slow and I am reluctant to give away the plot as I feel I would be doing you a disservice by not letting you get the film. But I like the fact that the movie starts slow and just gets more intense as the movie continues along. And one factor that really creeps me out is to me is the femme fatalle Asami Yamazaki played by Eihi Shiina never looked more beautiful then at the end of the movie when she started going overtime in doing here creepy work ! The woman is a bonafide psycho ! Folks I still get chills thinking about this movie. And I cannot say this enough if you like horror ya gotta start checking out some Asian cinema. And to me this is the best of that bunch.
#2- Fatal Attraction - Hell hath no fury like the scorn of a woman. And never has this statement been more well presented then in the movie " Fatal Attraction ". Glenn Close knocked this one out of the park in the role of Alex Forrest the career woman who is jilted by Dan Gallagher played by Michael Douglas. The movie came out in 1987 and was among the American Film Institutes 100 thrills coming in at the ranking of # 28. Glenn Close had so many creepy scenes in this movie and how she did not win best actress for this film should be investigated ! Her listening to " Madame Butterfly " and shutting the lights on and off was truly creepy and anyone who ever watched this movie remembers the rabbit ! I remember seeing the movie with my then girlfriend Pamela and her giving me the " Don't you dare think about it ! " look. And believe me I did not even consider looking at another woman for almost a week ! As I have said a couple of times in this hub crazy people scare me more then monsters and Alex Forrest was both and equally scary in both roles !
#1- Alien - Monster movies rarely get me going but " Alien " was without a doubt the scariest Scifi movie I have ever seen. I was just glued to my seat and to stiff to breathe on more then one scene in this movie. This is another movie that has great pacing as well as a superlative cast. Tom Skerritt , Sigourney Weaver as arguably the first woman superhero Ripley , Yaphet Kotto and of course John Hurt who definitely has one of the most memorable scenes in all cinematic history as the Alien pops out of his stomach ! Ridley Scott directed this movie in 1979 and then of course this was followed up by one of the few successful sequels to an original movie " Aliens " which came out in 1986. And of course that not being good enough the Hollywood braintrusts tried to milk the cow some more with " Alien 3 " and " Alien Resurrection " both of which were totally forgettable ! But without a shadow of a doubt " Alien " is one of the best monster movies ever created and I had to be removed from the ceiling on more then one occasion.
Some honorable mentions
The Shining - Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall were great in another of a long line of Stanley Kubrick masterpieces. And for many this stands as one of the premiere horror flicks of all time. And I too really liked the film . Jack Nicholson was just fabulous in his role as Jack Torrance the writer who after a month at a starts losing his mind along with the writers block. The film came out in 1980 and has been recognized as one of the all timers.
Cloverfield - This movie came out in 2008 . And quite frankly I really liked the way they presented this movie in kind of a home movie style and the creepy little monsters are a nice lttle addition to this movie. I know a lot of people who did not like this movie , but I liked the fact that this movie did not have a happy ending and was tied up with a nice little bow.
Other movie stuff !
- The Coen Brothers. Why are they so cool ?
There has certainly been more then a plethora of Directors of film on the big screen who make going to the theater worthwhile. Even when some Idiot is talking on their cell phone with no regard for the rest...
And one more !
- Hollywood Movies - Don't waste you Money !
As I was watching the game between the Celtics and the Cavaliers in the NBA playoffs tonight I was hit right between the eyes by a major piece of garbage. Or as we call it the movie trailer. Much to my horror...

Like you, I care not for vampires. I really liked the original 80's version of My Bloody Valentine, campy, but still a good scare!! I also liked the Hitcher and Silence of the Lambs. I don't know if you read much, but the Silence book was maybe even better than the movie. Really enjoyed this hub and remembering some of those great scares!
Tony my man you pegged all the best of em though I do like the old Bellalagousie (SP?) Draculas While they didn't have the 'pop' the modern genre it is a classic. Happy Popcorn Trails to ya!
Tony,
I can't fault your list. As an old timer I'd add "The Birds", and "Psycho". Hitchcock had a way with this genre!!
Great job on zero-ing in on scary movies, Tony! You've named some of my favorites here, so we must have similar tastes in horror, lol...
I have to admit, though, that Tom and I are addicted to the SyFy channel now, because of their non-scary "scary" movies, more because they try so hard to be terrifying, when actually they are more hilarious than scary, haha.
Misery and Seven were two of the best ones you mentioned, and oh, Silence of the Lambs...well, and The Shining...Heck--all of them, hahaha...
Thanks-I enjoyed reading this so much! :)
Great list, tony, it was scary just to read your synopses. Seven and the Silence of the Lambs would be #1 and @2 for me. I've seen all the films you mentioned but Audition - will search for it.
Tony, I am not a big horror movie fan except for all of those you mentioned. I have also loved Hitchcock movies. I watched his show when I was a little girl. I don't like ones like "I know what you did last Summer", or Vampires, and other similar to that. I remembered how freaked out I was watching "Silence of the Lambs", but yes it is a great horror movie. I heard Anthony Hopkins talking on TV and he said he felt he really though playing so many evil roles affected him and it sounded like he was looking for a change of character. He is such a good actor.
Good hub!
I love scary movies. Some of them are very good, like Silence of the Lamb or Seven, some of them are absolutely stupid but still entertaining. From your list my faves are Silence of the Lamb, Seven, Misery, Saw and The Hitcher. I love Anthony Hopkins, he is a terrific actor and absolutely lovely person (I had a privelege to meet him a few times). I also like him in Hannibal, which was also great and very very scary. But the most scariest movie I've ever seen was Hostel. I am not easy scared but when I watched Hostel even I closed my eyes several time. In any case great list! (probably except of Fatal Attraction - great movie, but not scary :)
Great list. though LOL I am not a fan of Saw. The Thing was awesome. Exorcist III was also pretty darn good. IMO.
theres one Im still trying to remember the name of where three nut jobs escape an institution, then hide in a circus where they dress as clowns to escape from the cops.
a Kid sees them and they follow him home to silence the witness. great movie as I remember.
Great hub...
I never liked scary movies before, but I am starting to come around.
Terrific choices. I still get sick when I think about Misery and Silence of the Lambs.
Good morning! I love scary movies and I love your list! Like Tom, I would add the birds. When I was a kid, I snuck out of my room to peer around the corner and watch the movie my folks were watching, The Birds. The first bird attack had me running back to my room, after which I was promptly busted for my inability to escape in silence! And Misery! Bates did an excellent job and the movie was almost as good as the book. Thank you for sharing with us.
You have great taste in the horror genre Tony.As I'm pretty selective in the general horror flicks...though "Shutter Island" might have the mind-bending twist of sanity that you might enjoy as much as I did;)
Scary movies scare me, and I don't like being scared. Actually, in real life, I can react to the fright and end the terror, so I think I don't like watching passively. I read Misery, and liked it. I also heard Silence of the Lambs. You've given me an idea for an article...
Nice collection i agree. You must also see THE CUBE part I .
Tony,
I agree with you about The Thing. I bought it on a whim...on VHS, and I love it.
Totally agree with you on Alien - still one of my all time favorite movies. But another movie comes to mind: "Sixth Sense". I would definitely rate that as scary, and I like the surprise ending.
Hi Tony - seen them all except Saw and Audition. No, I'm not too fond of horror movies but I go along with my husband and shut my eyes tight during the really scary parts - not to mention scream and cling at times :D
I love a good scare too! I recently watched Paranormal Activity and that was really spooky!
Hi Tony - I used to like scary movies but not so much anymore. That's why I've seen almost all of Hitchcock's films and most of those you listed here except for Audition and Saw (just like Shalini). The more recent ones like The Ring or The Nightmare series don't appeal to me at all.
Thanks for this travel through memory lane Tony!
Oh man, such a great list here. "Misery," "Silence of the Lambs," "The Exorcist," and who can forget "Aliens?" Made great out of the fact that the monster, for the most part, remained mysterious throughout. What makes it for me is usually the fact that I and my own imagination can really scare the hell out of me. Keep the monster in the shadows. It's much scarier that way. :) Great hub, man.
Nice, I need to check some of these out. I've seen most but not Saw and Audition. My wife hates scary movies so I typically don't get to a lot of them. What did you think about "the shining?"
I saw that movie when I was young and it still creeps me out. The blood pouring out the elevator, the 2 little girls, the woman in room 237...her cackling laugh still haunts me.
Great hub! I love a good scary movie. Hostel still gives me some nightmares.
I was sipping a bit of Chianti and munching on some fatha beans as I read this...hahaha choke!choke! The livah was over cooked. Loved the hub...not sure if I dig horror movies or not...my life often seems like a horror movie...a mixture of bad men that make Glenn close look like she is Mother Theresa...lots of stuff that seems like it is right out of the exorcist...moving along...living the story of 777...always trying to figure out who the 'enemy' is but at least they have stopped calling me..he he he..Misery will probably be waiting for me tomorrow with an axe--hopefully she misses...The faces of evil--Hannible Lector and Saw seem to like to show their faces every once and awhile also...but I will just be thankful that I havn't had to travel to Texas lately...and have a creepy cop pull me over with a son who likes to play with chainsaws...so I will look on the bright side. I miss you! Good hub...smiling and cracking up ovah here.
tony you really know your stuff when it comes to scary movies. I like you mix of thriller with sci-fi, gotta ask have you seen Jeepers Creepers?
I'm a huge horror movie fan. I was glad to see Audition made it on your list.
I also love Saw. I find it very horrible, yet it has a very good story.
The audition is one of my favorite horror movies as well. Korean cinema especially, like Old Boy which is a classic. Just thinking about that movie gives me the chills. That director is really insane~~~, made Saw look like it was some child's movie.
Cool! I've always really wanted to watch good horror movies. the recent ones always fall short of being really "creepy". is the "misery" you mentioned based on the novel by stephen king? i'm just curious...btw, i'm definitely gonna check out the hitcher and the rest that u've mentioned!
Hi Tony. There are several movies making on scare in holly wood and Bollywood. But i like Romantic, love movies.
www.artoflegendindia.com
I'm more of an adventure movie person, without the scary. However, I know there is an entire cult of darkness out there!
Great Hub... had to read parts with my eyes closed, however!(LOL)!
For me, off the top of my head, "Aliens" is one of the only ones that really worked. "Silence of the Lambs" had a pretty good sequel, though by the third installment things were beginning to feel a little hokey.
Of course, I'm talking horror here. The "Batman" movies have all been good IMO. And the original "Superman" movies were good as well. James Bond movies, well...they ARE in an entire league of their own, though I don't like the newer ones (who cares how James Bond became James Bond, just give me the stuff he's made of that I KNOW already he's made of).
Anyway...
I'm not really into the scary psycho movies, but have watched quite a few (go figure...). Exorcist, The Omen, Harvest Homes, People Under the Stairs, Alien, and practically every one that you mentioned. Great, now I can't go to sleep!!! xox
i like Seven the most, Bredd Pitt looks awesome in it
I've got goose pimples. I hate scary movies but I have to admit I've watched a couple of your favourites, with one eye open. After watching SAW, I don't think I could face another one.
Great Hub. :)
Excellent choices tony! I think you hit on the key ingredient that makes for an all time good horror movie, and i.e. suspense. Not being a big fan of too much gory stuff , I only enjoy movies that have good actors and a real plot involved (and not just a killing spree with blood and guts all over!) Thats why, Seven, Silence of the Lambs, Fatal Attraction and of course, The Shining are some superb movies, not to mention, Misery which chilled me down to the bone! Anyway, really enjoyed the hub, as always.... and hopefully, should be able to survive the night! ;) Take care x
In my opinion the best scary movie would be The Ring and I am legion
Great list Tony. Misery is up there for me, because it could actually happen and Kathy Bates is so good in this movie.
Good read
Cool hub. I think that you left a few out though. When i was growing, there were a few that scared me. In my top five I would definitely have to say...Jaws Part 1, The Exorcist was right there, and i have to add one from the present; The Strangers was pretty creepy. But I must say you made me think and I agree with you on most of those. The Shining is definitely a classic.
Great List Tony, a lot of my favourites came up aswell including Alien, The thing and of course The Exorcist. Some i'd recommend would be Danny Boyle's "28 Days Later," and if your a fan of Tartan Cinema then "Ring" provides a variety of good scares. don't bother with the hollywood remake because as usual it doesn't really live up to the standard of the original. I love your honest style of writing though and it was an enjoyable read. keep up the good work!
Nice one Tony,
Great hub and some really good movies but i would have to include Hostel in this list. Im a big horror film fan but this film is a real shocker!!!!!.
Im new to Hubpages and just finding my way and im really impressed with your layout and nice writing style.
Ohhh, the Exorcist. I saw it when I was five years old and, instead of being scared to death and having nightmares, I laughed the whole movie at the faces and moves the possessed girl made. That was when I found out that horror/scary movies didn't work for me. I always see them as some sort of comedy.
Anytime =) I seem to be a bit more impacted by movies like the Day After Tomorrow, for example. Movies like that don't scare me, but they give me food for thought and make me think realistically about the future considering our current actions. I guess most people would agree that mankind has been a failure, and I'm worried about where we are leading ourselves.
Lol, exactly. I'm still pretty young and I do want a good life for me. But cautious people can usually find their own ways of succeeding, or at least surviving.
Thanks for the kind welcome Tony. Had a thought today what about Dusk till Dawn two movies in one really with the horror part being the 2nd half of the film. I remember the first time i watched and would never of know that the movie was going to be full of Vamps (Its another one of my all time favs) but as with a lot of movies the follow up to it was very poor.
Excellent choices here, as I too love scary movies. One of my favourites was "The Entity" based allegedly on a true story where the woman was haunted by a poltergeist wherever she went, including being repeatedly raped by it, sometimes in full view of her Husband who could see the fingers marks as her breasts were being squeezed, (their marriage broke up due to the emotional pressure in the end). In the movie the entity even nearly crashed her car with her in it. This whole movie was truly one of the scariest, yet the best, I have ever seen.
PS. I too watched "From Dusk 'til Dawn" unaware it was going to be a vampire movie. I was half reading a book when the female turned into a vampire on the table in the bar, and immediately I put down my book and was fixated on that film until the end. My first experience of George Clooney, and that was another bonus that I am now hooked on!!!
I am sure I shall be around more often now my allotment beg for this year are coming towards an end. See you soon.
Seven is one of my wife's least favorite movies of all time, but then she tends to like only movies that make her happy. The ending of Seven, as well as many scenes throughout, seemed a bit gratuitous to me. However, i can get on board with it in my top 10. I'm also with you on Misery and while i agree that Alien was really scary i would probably still categorize it as SciFi.
The Asian horror trend has produced some frighteners, i'd agree, but everything new seems to play the same old perceptual tricks for thrills. This gets a bit old after awhile.
In my humble opinion, The Shining needs to be in the top 5, maybe drop Fatal Attraction entirely. And what about JAWS? I know it is old, but then so am I. I can tell you, many people didn't go in the water that year and some for years afterward.
Great list!! There are a couple on here that I have not seen. Audition is on my list to see. Misery!!! I forgot Misery!! HOW??? Oh, well...add it to my list for a third installment...just need to get more movies to include. I have never seen The Hitcher or The Thing. I will have to check them out! Great list! Oh, and check out my second installment of the list...I just finished it.
iwant get chance in cineme chance
Thanks for pointing me here. I agree with you, most of today's scary movies don't match up to the older ones...like the exorcist! Now that was owns up to it's genre. All of the movies you listed were some of my favorites as well.
There's nothing like a good scary movie that keeps you in fear of what's coming next! I'd love to see a huge new selection come out this year that is worthy of the money they bring in now.
Thanks for the good read!
This was a good list. I think Fatal Attraction's scene where Glenn Close comes out of the tub pretty much does it for me. See, I love a good scare, even though, I won't be able to take a shower or look in the mirror for a few days, LOL, for the fear of actually being scared just exactly like the people in the film, but I do appreciate a good horror film. Good hub.
I didn't like Seven or Saw for the same reasons, First the killers motivations in each movie were so Lame. John Doe killed people because they were sinners,Dumb, and Jigsaw tortured people because they didn't appriciate life. Really. Then they were so sadistic about it. Yeech, just a gore fest.
As soon as I seen The Cube I scrolled down so I don't know if you seen it. or IF it's the same movies. I know of "Cube" "Hyper Cube" and "Cube Zero", my favorite was Hyper Cube, although when I come across them I'd like to get the three on blu ray. I like the Hyper Cube because not only is it the fear of the unknown, (to me the worst fear is of the unknown) but with Hyper Cube it doesn't leave you hanging at the end. Great flick!
I'm not sure here, if you're just talking scary or gore scary, or even psychological thriller. Like, Frailty? Identity? I'm sure you've seen Jacob's Ladder, Identity, or for spooky I like The Others. I live in a big creepy house, and I love it more because when my neighbor told me a lady who lived here before practiced witchcraft! I don't, but I did have an Ouija board, that did creep me and my friend out! And I'm NOT KIDDING either. I couldn't find the planchette, so I used another pointed object and placed a photo of someone who passed on about 5 years ago over the top. Then we just watched a movie, and NOBODY moved, it was just us two. The board was on a table and the dog slept in the other living room. When the movie was over both the planchette and the photo were turned sideways. It was in plain view either of us would have seen if the other did it. We weren't even close enough to touch it without the other knowing. I don't know about them, but my friend made me get rid of it and we had a really hard time trying to burn it.
My favourite scary film is ORPHAN because she is so nice at the begging and then she just turnss i'd love to be in a film like that it would be fun .
Hi Tony sorry for the late reply I've been busy.. ::bwwaaah:: in the scary house in which I live LOL hehe... Yes, strange things do happen here, but I'm not afraid. I don't know why I'm just not.
Have you had a chance to watch the Cube trilogy? Hyper Cube is the very best, although you get more of a grasp on WHY they are there as the first one sets you into the them of why the rooms move as they do. Identity and Frailty are great psy. thrillers as I mentioned. Put them on your "must see" list!
Sounds like a great store! I heard at some point that Internet Movie Database will eventually have all movies available kind of like netflix streamed to you tv. Who knows when! I know imdb.com do show some. Nothing is as good as HD and the Cube trilogy or which ever one you choose you'll love on HD. Do you by chance have a blu ray player? I absolutely love mine! I'm waiting to find Hyper Cube at a local pawn shop soon! They're like your store, endless! 3-D on blu ray looks SO realistic! I have the kids movie "Coraline" lol and when she sews the button for the eye you almost lean out of your chair lol! Post a review when you can! Your pix are amazing!
Gotcha:) Well, when you get time, please learn of digital convergence, as the future holds just don't let yourself fall behind. Good day yourself!:)
great list!

Tony. I have never been much into scary movies. I have watched a lot, but most of them only do scary, and do not have much of a plot. I guess that is the point, scary. Some of it may be that they do not scary me much anymore.
I glad you enjoy them.
Keep on hubbing!
