In RuPaul we Trust !

No one can Ignore the fact that on the American landscape there has been a major cultural shift that has been taking place since the late 1960s. The hippies of that era are now the CEOs ,politicians and other decision makers of our present time as they are at retirement age now and have along with the other non counter culture individuals Implemented the policies and laws that all of us regular folk now are expected to abide by. And this cultural shift is predicated along the free love anything goes mentality that was part and parcel of the philosophy of the more liberal amongst us. We are seeing this cultural shift also taking place all around the globe now too. But I would like to keep my focus on what is going on here stateside. As the years go on and I observe society and the downward spiral that I see us in I have to wonder where this started. And I believe that we can start by looking at the modern education system.

The modern child and young adult in the information age that we now live in is walking around with a sense of entitlement and a false sense of self esteem that is not deserved. I grew up in a time where I was told that if you want self esteem , you had to take esteem able actions. Most young adults that walk around in my community have an overinflated sense of self importance , a sense of entitlement and a persona that says I am special and you are dumb ! And I have to laugh because the majority of these kids could not name one Supreme court justice nor the Senator of their state or for that matter even do basic arithmetic. And those of voting age I have no doubt voted for Obama using this criteria. " Well I think it would like be awesome to have a black man in office. Plus I friend-ed him on facebook ! And that other dude who was President was like totally lame ! " Now on that last point I have to completely agree.

However I am not here to talk about the current administration either. What I am here to talk about is the state of education and the curriculum that is being administered. Now when I say this statement I have no doubt this will ruffle some feathers. As you who pay attention might be aware Kansas City Missouri is going to close almost half of it's schools. And I say good ! Quite frankly I am happy that the modern educator will not get more opportunities to fill young minds with the philosophical tripe that kids are getting from the modern education system.

" So the definition that I give to parents of an elementary school person, and this is what I use for the kids, is I say to kids that someone who is gay is someone, is a man who would be in a loving or romantic relationship with another man rather than a woman, and a lesbian is a woman who would be in a loving or a romantic relationship [with another woman], which she isn't necessarily in a relationship, but that is who she'd be in a relationship with "

This is a quote from Laura Perkins a social worker in Newton Massachusetts in 2003 in regards to teaching six year olds about homosexuality. Hey Laura I got an Idea ! How about teaching them math and science instead ? And leave the teaching of subject matter like that to the parents !

Ya gotta Indoctrinate them early ya know ! Now I also would like to point out the disgraceful and completely inane case of the Los Angeles Unified School district. During February which is black history month three elementary school teachers all working in the South LA portion of the school district celebrated by having the young students display pictures of OJ Simpson , Dennis Rodman , and that other great role model to aspire too RuPaul ! I myself would have chosen from maybe , Maya Angelou , George Washington Carver and Dr Martin Luther King ! Now the teachers themselves say that it was a joke. This was perpetrated upon children in the first, second and fourth grade. And when presented with this social violation the school board suspended them without pay for three days and now these teachers will be reassigned. I myself would have kicked their asses out the door to join the ranks f the unemployed. You do not outrage parents and insult the African American community and then give them a slap on the wrist ! Harsher measures should have been implemented !

Now the modern curriculum in our classrooms is busy teaching our children all about tolerance and self esteem and diversity. These are considered imperative philosophies to mold the young minds to prepare them for the future. Now while I too support such ideals I would like to draw your attention to the case of Brad Johnson vs the Poway Unified School District. Brad Johnson has been a math teacher in the district for over 20 years. The banners in Johnsons classroom have been up since 1982 and have never drawn ire prior to 2007 when political correctness has been implemented everywhere.

A teacher who has remained unnamed felt the banners were offensive. Things like " In God We Trust " and " One Nation Under God " and " God Shed His Grace on Thee " which is in an American standard and we sung in my school days called " America The Beautiful ". I do not understand how that could be considered offensive. I guess this is the new age of teacher. It was also reported that other banners at the school celebrated diversity , tolerance in regards to homosexuality and pictures of dead children in Iraq. Now how is that not offensive ? Anyway Brad Johnson took the School District to court about this and I am happy to report that he won !  Judge Roger Benitez made a decision on February 25th in favor of Brad Johnson. Of course the school district will appeal as I read this week in the local paper. And that school district has had its struggles lately after the murder of Chelsea King who was a student in that district.

But anyway my point is why is it OK to celebrate diversity and tolerance and Mother Earth but slogans that have been ingrained in our culture for years as well as our history are now deemed offensive ? I get so tired of hearing about what I call the big lie which is called " Separation of Church and State ". I for one look at these slogans as part of our nations history not a religious matter. I get tired of the liberal minds who teach revisionist history and toxic philosophy in our schools. Brad Johnson I salute you for standing up for what you believe. And Michael Newdow lost his case in the ninth circuit court of appeals a liberal judiciary if ever there was one ! And the Pledge of Allegiance gets to stay intact and " In God We Trust " stays on our currency. Who the hell does this guy think he is ? To try an overturn traditional values that used to make us a great nation. I cannot help but feel that as secularism and a more liberal philosophy have risen here stateside that we have gone into the toilet. The parallels are no coincidence to me.

Now I would like to say that with recent court rulings and the decision by the School Board of Texas this week that I am starting to feel some small semblance of optimism . The School board in Texas has been deciding on new history and social studies textbooks for 2011 in which they have been going back to more traditional studies and history. While I like that Idea I do still believe all sides should be heard including the shameful way we have treated Native Americans. But my beef is the fact that it is OK to pass on liberal philosophy in our schools like diversity and tolerance but anyone who dares to stick with more traditional values are immediately met with antagonism and a complete lack of tolerance the more progressive among us claim to have cornered the market on ! I do see a bit of a conservative resurgence going on in America now and I like it ! However regardless of Ideals or philosophies my biggest beef is that Ideology on either side has replaced mathematics , literature and science. Not only are our kids becoming obese they are getting stupid. I don't think you should be able to use a calculator in class on math . In my day you had to work out the problems on paper. And there is no skill to prepare you for life that is more important then the ability to solve problems. And math not only teaches you how to solve number problems it teaches your mind to function in a capacity to solve problems. What could be more Important then that ? I am sick of the self esteem stuff too. You do not get rewards in life for participation. In the real world there are winners and losers and that is a harsh reality ! Schools do a disservice to children when they give them badges for participation in dodgeball. You do need the A thru F system not pass or fail because that is how you are graded in life after you leave school ! The better get more. These days the dishonest and crooked seem to get more but that is another hub for another time ! My point is that these schools that are closing I have no problem with because of the s'''''t I see them trying to impart on our children. Teachers shape up ! I know there are still good teachers out there. But when they go to college and recieve the poison that a higher education brings these days I shudder at the thought they get to mold minds !
