Boy what a week !
59Wow I am worn out !
Boy has this last calender week been one for the books or what ! There are so many things going on globally and locally , It has made my headspin like Linda Blair In " The Exorcists " I guess for a lack of a better term these are my takes on the events of the week .
1 Mark Sanford decides to take a hike on The Appalachian Trail and Inexplicably ends up In Argentina ! And then the South Carolina Governor ended up In the arms of his Argentine flame who to my knowledge Is not named Eva Peron ! And on top of that was expressly forbidden by his wife to see her . Now I hate to say this however I wonder why a married politician gettin some on the side Is news anymore ? I remember Monicagate . And Eliot Spitzer last year and a multitude of other ones who made these transgressions . It has become so commonplace that It has replaced bank bailouts as the most boring Items In the news ! Oh well at least Mr Sanford wasnt In an airport tappin his foot In a stall In the mens bathroom lookin for a walk on the wild side . Family values party , eh ?
2 Iranian protests and the death of Neda . Even though this Is getting to be old news now . I for one really see a spark of hope for future relations with Iran . This young lady had her life robbed from her far too soon . And It chilled me to the bone to see the footage being shown on the cable news channels of her untimely death . But now the young people of Iran have a face to connect with a cause . And I believe our President Is handling this situation properly . His dialogue while firm has been low key . But of course President Anmaja whatever the @*^% his name Is has fingered the perpetrators of the protests , and by no surprise It Is the good old USA ! When are we gonna learn to mind our own @%^* business ?
3 We had the hat trick on the passing of celebrities this week . But not just celebrities but social Icons of American life and one In particular a global Icon . Ed Mcmahon passed on In the first part of the week and I was sad but not surprised as he was getting on In years . Farrah Fawcett passed away at 62 after a long battle with cancer and this was a woman whose poster was on my wall when I was a overly excited and hormonally active teenager . I feel bad about this one because on MSNBC I saw a little portion of the documentary of her having her ongoing battle with cancer and I felt so sad for her . RIP and be with the angels above now Farrah ! And lastly of course the passing of the king of pop his highness Michael Jackson .
Jackson passed away at 50 of a cardiac arrests that some believe was chemically Induced as he was living on narcotics that made Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin look like lightweights . Now for me personally like all of you the lasts 15 years or so were hard to look at, because of the pedophilia and the botched surgeries and Neverland ranch . However for me I like to think about being a 9 year old kid that watched them on " The Ed Sullivan Show " and like the rest of the kids on my block In 1970 ran out to the record store to get that album "ABC " . And used to dance continuously to It . However me dancin Is not a pretty picture so I wont elaborate to much on this . But I also remember being In my early 20s when a new channel called MTV came on and me and the rests of the Animal House clan I rented a house with would watch Michael Jackson videos along with Duran Duran and Van Halen of course !
So like I said on a previous thread here on hubpages The King of Pop and his brothers have been part of the soundtrack of my life for almost 40 years now ! RIP Michael your tortured soul can now find some peace .
4 Billy Mays passed away this morning at the age of 50 . YIKES I am about to turn 49 next month and I would hate to think I only have one good year left In me . I mean damn I havent even had a good reason to hike The Appalachian trail and If I did I would be killed anyway . But Is It me or was this guy just a little overexcited about cleaning products ? Oh well god bless Billy .
5 And now In Honduras they are taking a page out of the Iranian protest playbook and rioting In the streets because of crooked elections . I mean I am glad I live here In the USA because nothing like that ever happens here right ?
Oh and by the way here are a couple of other little tidbits that caught my attention that I thought I would let you be aware of .
6 An American Airlines jetliner going to Austin Tx from LA had to do a brief layover In Tucson AZ because of an unruly an extremely drunk passenger whom to my knowledge Is not named Goldentoad . Now first off dont they have an air marshall ? Or come on man , overpower the sonofabitch ! Anything not to have a layover In Tucson !
7 In Louisville Ky Pastor Ken Pagano asked his flock to bring unloaded handguns In their holsters to New Bethel Church In Louisville . At least 40 attended the services In support of the Second Amendment rights . Now I am all for peoples rights to own guns. Even though I do not own one myself . However call me chicken@*&^ but I am keepin one eye open during prayers at that service !
8 And lastly locally here a congressional hopeful named Francine Busby had a fundraiser over In Cardiff by the Sea which locally here to me Is Heaven ! On Friday night they had the fundraiser with the usual stuffed shirts In attendance and got a disturbing the peace call on them ! The parties hostess Shari Barman got pepper sprayed and arrested for disturbing the peace and assault on a peace officer . On the Initial report the police asked Ms Barmans date of birth so he could file his paperwork about the noise complaint . Ms Barman refused and a crowd of 30 to 50 people surrounded her and were subsequently pepper sprayed when they tried to separate her from the police officer . And then Barman allegedly punched the officer .
Now this Is my kind of fundraiser ! Ms Barman next time I will state here that I will be happy to bring the kegger to your next fundraiser ! I get sick of the mundane routine of my life and It sounds like you know how throw a party !
Well that Is about It for now ! I will be checking In on your hubs as well . So enjoy your week my friends ! Your humble correspondent Is checking out ! LATER !
The King has passed !

Sooo many crazy happenings lately that's for sure! Who knew June would be such a weird month??
And tony, you have many more years ahead of you ;)
thanks Tony! It's jayne mansfield, also a beauty. I may not associate as well with her but I resemble her more than viv ;)
Thanks Tony! Those are some hefty compliments ;) I do love the classics and I thought I'd change it up a little :)
I guess Billy Mays isn't big enough news to warrant a newsflash in my inbox. The very first I heard about his death was here on your hub! I'm honestly as shocked about that as about any of the other deaths. I swear I just saw him and that other dude from the show Pitchmen on late night TV this week -- Conan, if I recall correctly. His death is a big Sham- WOW!
But the rest of your items are equally noteworthy. Lots going on. What can we look forward to next week, do you think?
BTW -- I always take my Glock to church. Doesn't everybody??
Tony, this has definitely been a busy week indeed. Thanks for the summaries of the recent in the news. wow. I wonder what is going to happen this week o.0*
When you put it together like that it has been insane to say the least. I am with MM I was completely shocked by Billy Mays death as well.
How you know the deranged and drunk looney on the plane wasn't me is because he was flying back from Texas. Everyone knows I wouldn't voluntarily visit Cowboy country.
OMG, Brother! LOL You write the most hilarious stuff! I love the fun! Ellie
Good stuff tony, stay with it. Enjoy the fundraisers, most are snoozefests.
Oh wow, you must be so tired, lol.
Great hub!
